At Yosemite Pet Hospital, we understand the busy schedules that most people have in their lives.  We also can appreciate the inconveniences that may occur when your pet's scheduled appointment is delayed. 

In the veterinary profession, delays in scheduled appointment times are often the result of an emergency or a critical care condition for another pet patient.  To help with this, Yosemite Pet Hospital has developed "Smart Scheduling", a simple concept designed to help reduce the potential for lengthy waiting times. 

While you can never predict when an emergency situation will occur, you can take an organized approach to scheduling.  This can position the Hospital to better respond when emergencies do occur.

Pets, and their owners, have many different reasons for visiting Yosemite Pet Hospital.

Common types of appointments include your pets' annual physical examination, a follow-up call for a previous visit, rechecking medication levels, or consultation for diet and behavioral related issues. These visits typically require a predictable amount of time.  The Dr. will examine your pet, and thoroughly discuss your pet's health care needs.

On other occasions your pet may have a more serious medical condition, such as serious illness or an injury due to an accident.  These situations are unpredictable and often require longer appointment times to properly diagnose and treat your pet's medical condition.  In some cases, a series of tests may be required to determine the proper treatment.

When several of the more serious emergency or critical care medical cases come in at the same time, the Dr. and staff resources may become overloaded in attending to the needs of these patients.  This can result in delays for the regularly scheduled appointments.

Smart Scheduling:

Smart Scheduling is a method of taking an organized approach to the various types of appointments that we see throughout the day.  Appointments are color coded to help ensure a smooth flowing schedule.

We place an emphasis on consulting with our clients on their pets veterinary needs thus Yosemite Pet Hospital provides longer appointment times for all of our clients.  .  We want to make sure each and every client receives the proper treatment, and has the opportunity to thoroughly understand what treatment options are available.  Our goal is to ensure your pet enjoys a healthy and happy life.

When you call for an appointment, you will be given several choices on available appointment times.  We want to help work around your busy schedule, while allowing us to ensure a smooth flow of appointments.  Early morning drop-offs and evening appointments are available to help work around your schedule.

A pet with a serious medical condition is not scheduled immediately following another emergency or critical care type of appointment.  Instead, we mix appointment types, and provide more time for emergency and critical care cases.

This helps the Dr. and staff budget their resources to properly treat these patients, without ignoring the needs of clients with healthy pet appointments.
